I've just joined this club and my first lovely surprise was to get a membership card with a picture of my P6B laminated onto it. A brilliant idea! I've had 2 magazines already including a wonderful selection of Rover P6 photos from the 2009 NEC show. The best Classic Car show I've ever been to...
Gareth,
Here is a page of optional equipment circuits taken from a Rover 2000 owners manual. It includes a circuit for an optional Rev Counter. Hope that helps.

I've read about putting 2 small speakers side by side, (stereo), on a baffle hidden behind the usual front speaker grill. I imagine the stereo sound to be similar to portable stereo players?
I have a modern unit in the left hand glove box with the strap adjusted so it doesn't open too far and...
Four years later!; My beautiful corsica blue series 1 that has a guilty secret of incontinently dropping oil through it's rear even though all new filters and fitting a composite better sealing head gasket. These "chinese fingers" are freely sold and there is a section on how to do it in the...
I think a smaller wheel(15"), and chunkier rim improve the "feel" of power steering on a P6, which is also a consideration when choosing a steering wheel. On a thin rim my fingers press into my palm, painful for me being a fingerstyle guitarist using fingernails! This is presumably why modern...
Here is an early mota lita steering wheel, (with the smaller centre boss, and conveniently a similar size to the central badge of the usual rover wheel), as fitted to a series one P6B that I had converted to power steering; and what a difference that makes! Eric
Have a look on www.rover-classics.co.uk for cost I provided all the parts, collected over the years, including the now harder to find front double pulley so it was cheaper for me.

Eric
I have just had my 1968 Three Thousand Five converted from manual steering to power steering by Ian Wilson at Rover Classics. It has added massively to the pleasure in driving around town and on the motorway it has a great "feel"; far better than I imagined it would be. I put a period 15 inch...
I still haven't dared to try this. The penalty if it doesn't work and the new or old seal is neither in or out seems too risky. Is there really no-one who has had a go? It looks easy in the manual (12.21.20). A l;ot easier than removing the engine anyway!

I,ve just had the rear suspension totally overhauled; new springs, all bushes renewed, de-dion cleaned and renovated inside and out, new tyres etc. Expensive, yes, but what a difference it's made! I'm able to overtake in the outside lane with confidence at last. After 20 years I'm a "born again"...
I am just about to buy a "chinese finger" tool for removing/replacing the rear rope type crankcase oil seal on my V8. (tool obtainable from www.agriemach.com).
Has any member had experience of doing this particular job, and are there any pitfalls to watch out for? Thanks for any info.
Eric...
A year ago I had a couple of new rear wings resprayed in Corsica Blue (two pack). The colour has never matched the rest of the car which is Corsica Blue, (cellulose, in good condition), even after extensive cutting back. Is it ever possible to match two pack paint colours with cellulose colours...
I've used both electric and mechanical systems over the years, (on different cars) and have never had vapour lock.
1. My 3500S had a jaguar electric fuel pump mounted under the petrol tank connected into the reserve fuel line with the main line blocked. At the carburettor end I had it going...
