Just come across this post saw one of these manifolds fitted with two carbs on Ebay I also have the rare Edelbrock Twin two barrel on my 4.6 RV8 in my other car.

If I put a 12volt coil on, can I just run a new wire from the rev counter to the coil to bypass the ballast resistor wire ? will the rev counter work ?

Yes I have that article, it was included in a hard back Hot Rod book of the period that I have, they do come up for sale in the USA once in a while, they were popular with the Drag boat people.

When I said rare I meant the Edelbrock manifold, the manifold is made for 1 inch venturi Rochesters, that is double what a Buick 215 came with, I had two sets of twin Rochesters but sold them, one set were almost new, even had philips screw heads ! I have Webers on mine DGAS from a Ford V6.

Just checked over the manifolds I got at the start of the year at an autojumble and they are the 3500s larger ones, I am gutted though as when I got them home one of the bottom lugs was cracked and when I touched it, it fell off, also the other one has a crack welded up on the back, only good...

Its all hand made and polished alloy, done by me in my lockup

Its not in a P6, its in an Austin Devon, its pretty fast mated to a close ratio Tremec gearbox, and I have only got small Weber DGAS on it at the moment with 24mm venturi, I have others with 27mm ones.

This is the same manifold as mine but with Rochester carbs they are rare even in the USA where they were made in the early 1960s.

Its a 1961 Buick 215 Edelbrock aftermarket manifold with two DGAS Weber downdraft twin barrel carbs adapted to fit.

Its got a 4.6 engine.

Thank you, I think if I get a pair I will machine up a pair of mushroom tops most likely easier than getting frontpipes. - had a look they are £60 each at Wadhams £102 in Stainless.

If I did find some 35500s manifolds where do I get the larger downpipe bit to fit ?

When I put in a 4.6 engine my distributor was marked 13, I found one marked 9 swapped the bits over, put in a spring off a Ford 1600 GT motorcraft dissy. this was to get the best total advance, I didnt know what I was doing, ! a friend told me to do it this way. I dont have the vacuum connected...

I read some where that the later auto manifolds were the same, I have a pair of manifolds that have an 1 3/4 inch opening, I am guessing these are the larger 3500S ones, unfortunately they are broken !

I need some large bore P6 manifolds, are the 613457 one the only large bore ones ?
