    E85 anyone?

E85 with turbos is now pretty much the done thing for big power in Australian custom scenes from what I’ve seen? I’ve got an E85 safe fuel pump and regulator from Aeromotive for my project as a general future proofing measure.. Jim

Excellent :thumb: Well this was definitely in there :p Both bottom joints done this morning, just getting a bunch of suspension bits ready to blast and epoxy. I’m going to bush them all ready to go- mostly poly but I’ve got solid aluminium versions for the rear crossmember. Some modification...

Thanks :thumb: In theory a lot of Exocets have passed, some after multiple attempts of course, so shouldn’t be too difficult, but the rule book is mighty fat.. As far as I know yes, they lose all historic status and are effectively a newly registered vehicle. I drove an early imported mk1 MX5...

    Car ramps.

SGS make some excellent quality stands for very reasonable money. I’ve got a pair of their 6tonne double pin type (560mm), 12 tonne ratchet type (605mm) and 6 tonne ratchet. They make other stands look flimsy Jim

Yeah I have a fond appreciation of the MX5. MEV not so much so far I’m afraid to say. I just fitted shock tower spacers to give enough ride height with the coilovers not being fully wound up..you have to cut and re weld upper control arms, wheel arch supports needed so much modification it...

Yes gonna hole saw that out next, along with a few extra to lighten it a bit. Ah that’s an Exocet, based on MX5 running gear. I’ve hugely undercharged for building that unfortunately, there’s a hell of lot of fab and tweaking needed, and I’m building it to pass IVA too..

Made a new mounting bracket for my aluminium rad too, it’s for a 200sx from memory. Just need to make some nice clamps for the top. Also extended the slam panel and made it bolt on

The initial reason to change the internal crossmember was to enable fitment of 4 Porsche front seats, the rears separated from their frames but still full length backs. But upon opening the box section it was clear it could be improved upon with the vertical strengthening plates. It also had a...

A quick roundup of recent work of interest done to the shell (there’s plenty of standard repair panel replacement finished on the front end too but once you’ve seen one..) Sills capped off with 2mm plate, tubs both finished, modified internal crossmember- blasted inside and vertical plates...

Tour of my 1970 NADA Spec Rover P6 3500s and a drive after.

I have a hybrid ZF 22/24 box built ready to fit in my project, with the stronger internal bits from the 24. Will see how well it responds to the B&M ratchet shifter I have for it too.. Jim

I think that’s the first video I’ve seen of a P6 driving around with ZF box fitted. Nice bit of period correct Aerosmith too

Can I mix different PAS fluid when topping up?

It’s not good to mix ATF and more dedicated PAS fluids as far as I know. My daily Volvo V70 year is on the cusp of using either ATF or specialist green Pentosin stuff and there’s always lots of confusion about what to use in which year car etc. Generally if things are flushed the alternative...
