had 2 of my otter screws fail due to age/corrosion. Otter with itself is faulty and needs replacing ( 5 years time? ) lol so just disconnected wire for now. as I rarely use choke and always push back I don't need orange light. Plus the twist and lock isn't working on my car ! checked with...
wasn't aware there was a hit float issue. mien are OK though I did have to replace fuel valves ( float) twice! the rubber tipped ones were worse than the brass ones.
can be combination .eg excess heat under bonnet which creates bubbles in ethanol fuels. after ensuring tower feed pipe is clear as per Harvey. we may have fuel supply issues or carb . I fitted a see through inline fuel filter ( the type you can take apart and clean and reuse) and found small...
Harvey has given great advise and information. my own understanding is a manual tunnel is very very tight and may need modification when going auto but auto to manual is far easier as tunnel is bigger.
mine comes on now and again .flickers a bit but random . does it one day not another .cannot find any faults with sender/reservoir ... ok well cork effect hmm. will have to remember that .
wasn't aware of RCi RCv ..fitted electronic dizzy and it works ok ( 1974 v8) still good to know this stuff. I recently bought a full v8 dash with clock etc for £80 . still have it minus the clock and a friend has full dash assembly in garage collecting dust.. you find these things out after...
have brother and a friend into bikes . Harley etc and one was an instructor for many years .both still use bikes (as I now do) but you get 2 groups when seem to get a lot of accidents 1= young bikers ( see a lot zipping past you on roads all over) 2 mature guy getting back to bikes and with deep...
one can argue technicalities and preferences but essentially we have a known weak point on fuse box (overheating /melt/fire) so any improvements ought to reduce such possibilities. I wasn't aware this replacement 'blade' fuses were available so went down rout of tiring and intricate...
had same symptoms plus others. refurnished carb(s) and later still had heavy intermittent flooding so replaced float valve and needle. so far npc issues . I have found E10 to have enormous capacity to absorb water and create small globules giving low power. poor starting and heat /ful vapour...
as fuels here at least in UK are marked E5 or E10 ( petrol) its about the amount of ethanol added to petrol and octane rating that have biggest effect. I only use E5 rated and always seek the more expensive 'super' type too. I also have those metal fuel tables in tank that give a slight octane...
got my full bike licence when I was 71! not ridden a bike form 1972( Honda 90 where I came off on diesel fuel at a roundabout and broke collar bone and got concussion) I rode my first bike under a car licence on an L plate! would suggest starting with a learner course as I did where u go to a...
not sure about my ignition advance .aware it wasn't accelerating rapidly so advanced dizzy by hand a tad. run car an dit zooms much better more like it ought to .no effect on my starting so I must get around to putting a strobe on it and see what it is.I moved it forward for lack of power AND...
sounds good. not sure what direction my lever is in but I think it only went in one way anyway so as to fit the locking screw. not used as I can't fit cable despite workshop manual showing it fitted form bulkhead to rad direction.
had my own issues with fuel gauge .I removed unit and found corrosion so clean dup and tested on bench. refitted with new seal and locking ring ( wIns) . fitted teh inline fuel filter ( as shown above by another post) .fuel filter is god send . also shows when I have poor fuel ..? as gas bubbles...
