Fitted electric facet type with inline fuse and ignition switched feed . No regulator used and pushing from under tank to carbs. Not quite cured the dreaded vapour lock issues and I retained mech fuel pump at first but now just electric . Planning on drilling out return line restrictor next...
I recall when I had an escort mexico way back in 1972. that was fast in its day and could easily keep up with jags etc ( to 60 at least) and actually out turn ( handling was excellent) them on corners with late braking etc.
recall rover 3500 as police cars and they were fast away...
hmm sign in car is an idea. next year will try and bring my old rover along with a bit of info .eg about car. owner etc might be interesting of we all did. hope the guy whom lost a core plug got home OK
went to Whietwebbs museum of transport today. entire group of rover owners as set up by rover sports club I believe.
aside from having a few dozen rovers of all ages including modern ones ( not sure thats so good but aware its open to all rover owners including bicycles!)
the museum...
I could supply my dizzy's numbers but as its a 3500 and not a 3.9L one would assume you need the numbers from a range rover where they used 3.9l lumps! if nobody comes up with data needed, maybe a check with range rover clubs?
sounds nice. hope weather is kind. i am too far away and cannot trust my p6 enough to go far as its not keen on traffic! ( working on that) my nearest trip this sunday will be to whitewebbs museum in Enfield this sunday being held by joint rover sports club. ( sadly taking my normal...
my thoughts but having stripped entire rear axle with diff off and checked on a bench .unable to find anything amiss or sticking/not working. probably missing something silly . I was considering stripping down again in summer and checking the actuating pins and pistons are ok. though whats...
noticed my brake fluid going down .no leaks found ..topped up.. brakes sticking on .. so removed servo for exchanging ( wins) and lo and behold ..servo full of fluid! I replaced brake master cylinder too. footbrake needs a touch more pressure than last servo..funny that! but handbrake...
nice to be made aware the scoops actually have a function and not just for show. personal taste would put me off those though as looks like the sort of thing kids? would do to soup up or make his car look 'cool'.
still everybody has own ideas of taste. much like fitting spoilers on...
much ado about gas flow and porting. when I was young and had an escort mexico Mk1 ( 16oogt kent lump) I thought about that and got advise that as long as outer gasket and exhaust flange was slightly larger than exhaust and inlet ports then gas flow would be good. any further...
hmm. I always get a mid range heart attack when cornering above 35mph in my rover. agree t holds road but the degree of roll is heart stopping! so if? theres a reasonably priced into roll bar we can buy? its probably going to sell but depending on number of owners needing/wanting and...
i have about 2" of play in steering wheel but it does not wander . that is more often caused by excess play in joints .out of line steering geometry etc . cannot comment on amount of play that ought to be correct ( as from new?)
ether can assist starting but the oil / diesel mix in bores will greatly assist doing damage to bores when engine has not bene cranked for some time. a few choice words is always helpful but if its anything like my car..it will turn a deaf ear anyway. good luck.
