    2200TC Project

I put about 500 miles on the clock since last week. Few problems, It's not starting cleanly, running on a little and bad exhaust fumes. Any advice welcome.

    20th anniversary

Astonishing. Never seen dual brake Servos. Is the nodding dog original too?

    Getting back on the road

Not at all, I'm with you. The ignition was set by Strobe, it should be Ok. Valves I'm not sure about yet, they will have to be done at some stage. Both Carbs rebuilt, the only things I didn't change were the needle, float and butterfly. I need new idle screws, looks like they were adjusted...

Steve one more question please. On the TC's does Carb 1 feed fuel to Cylinder 1&2 and Carb 2 to cylinders 3&4 ?

    Getting back on the road

Steve, I'm throwing out a lot of smoke, which I thought was just the exhaust, but the guys down there said I might need to do the rings and the valve stem seals. Were you very smokey before changing rings and seals? Would you suggest I have a go meself?

Just had the exhaust examined. The "Olives" joining the sections have blown and completely rotted away. Anyone know of a supplier or a fix?

Exhaust manifold hole on 2200 TC?

Excellent. Now when you do get it off, don't go pulling the carbs off, take the whole manifold off, it's not that difficult. Your O rings may have perished. And you will have better access to the exhaust to inspect it. But first and most importantly, drain your coolant!! If you want to have a...

Exhaust manifold hole on 2200 TC?

Ian I'm guessing you are talking about this part! It will come away, there are two bolt holes on the left, (sorry the photo isn't great, I disturbed herself to take it ) and the bracket you see.

    2200TC Project

Took the car out this evening, noticed one of my headlights is gone. Outer beam LU 54522973 37.5W. Geoff has HL103H4 , are they OK to replace with?

    2200TC Project

Absolutely, but the bolts had to come out to support the engine while I replaced the gasket on the engine side-cover.

Yes it does seem a little off safety-wise, it is a self locking nut I think, but still. A split pin would make me feel safer. I'll look into it, now that I know what the parts are, when refitting I might look into a safer alternative.
