    Hello, new 2000TC owner

Hi Trev I have been looking at your pictures on Flickr and I must tell you that I am SO GLAD to know that the old girl went to such a good home. My plan when I first got it was to bring it to my home country (Brazil) but it turned out to be an unfeasible task at the moment. That is relly a fine...

    which water pump?

Hello, I was told that there are two models of water pump that go on P6s: one is sized 155mm and the other is 185mm. Does anyone know which one would fit in a 2000TC year 1972? Thanks!

    Which spark plugs?

Many thanks for the insights! I have changed the coil to the Lucas sports one (40.000 volts) and the thermostat to the 74 degrees one. No joy... I've tried to do the suction test. The base plate had a minimum movement. Also I noticed that there was a lot of air passing throught the pipe. I...

    Which spark plugs?

The gauge shows slightly bellow 50 when at iddle. When running it goes up a fraction. Just thought it would be good to mention: I have noticed that one of the rubber tips on the advance pipe is cracked, so I have order a replacement. By the way, does any of you know how to test the advance...

    Bad Float?

Thanks Chris, That's a really good point, I did not know they had different sizes. I'll make sure that it is the right one before carrying on. Also, I have noticed that my fuel lines are quite rusty and I am afraid to split them whilst changing the tank... By the way, shall I take the...

    Vaccum advance unit

Hello, Is it difficult to change the vaccum advance unit? It seems that the one I've got installed is not the right one for my dizzy, plus I was told that it's diafragm is leaking. I've got a new one but I haven't got a clue how to change it. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Andre

    Bad Float?

Hello, I've come accross a tank fitted with a working sender for 20 quid. Do you think I would be better off to change the whole tank instead of just changing the sender. It seems to me to be quite tricky to take the sender out with that funny ring, being underneath the vehicle...

    Which spark plugs?

Hello, a little update: 1) Changed spark plugs - Iridum BPR8EIX (equivalent to N6Y) 2) Flushed and changed coolant 3) Retarded ignition as much as I could 4) Put BG44K to try to clean combustion chamber The car is still pinking although all those attempts. I still haven't tried the...

    Which spark plugs?

In this case, I have commited a serious mistake. I thought that the numbers would be equivalent, so I was using BP6ES in place of N6Y, when actualy I should be using BP8ES. I guess the same would apply to the iridium plugs, I need the BPR8EIX probably. As for the Bosch GT40R, so far I had no...

    Which spark plugs?

Thanks a lot for your insights. Interesting, I thought the N7Y would be colder then the N6Y... so it is actually the opposite! As a matter of fact, my car started pinking after I went from the N6Ys to the N7Ys. I've heard about the iridium plugs before. Are they actually better in reducing...
