Car horn

I'll up the game a step. No paint :p

Yep -that certainly is a game changer. Top iron metal part may need a coat. Not that I did that. The caste Ali looks good cleaned off.
I was surprised with the amount of dirt encrusted oil on my units. I did blow a power steer hose 15 odd years ago ,and everything in the engine bay got a coating. That may explain the Cling-on dirt.
Im still amazed what the WD40 method did to improve the LOUD

I replaced my headlights with Hella units. The outers with a high/low hardened glass unit and the high beam inners with a long range pencil beam. This way the high beam on the outers light the general area and the pencil beam covers the far away stuff. If you have your headlights supported with relays you could put some serious wattage halogen globs in them otherwise just stick to standard wattage globes so as not to risk overloading the antique wiring, fusing and switch contacts. There's more info on this topic elsewhere on this forum. (I do very little night driving but when I do its great to see what's ahead)
Thanks for your reply. Where did you purchase your lights from. My outer headlamps are in perfect condition in everyway and I replaced the bulbs and happy with the result. I did notice they had been replaced at some point as the date stamped on the glass was 1982. The inner Cibie units stamped 1972

Purchased the Hella pencil beams locally via my sons work. (Auto electrician) Can't remember the price but you get what you pay for. When I ordered these, they thought they'd do me a favor and got some cheaper ones that claimed to do the same thing. I bench tested these and took them straight back, they were utter rubbish . The beam was wide and patchy. I also have the Hellas on my motor home so I know how great they are.
