I don't think those door hinge pins are original. Earlier cars have a different pin, but I don't think it's that.
Interesting Chris. All the doors have these both top & bottom & I'm pretty sure the doors are the originals as they had 'Cataloy' filler or similar in them before 1978 (when it came off the road) so no apparent major restoration etc. The fronts have the round quarter light catch fixings & round door locks.
They are unlikely to have been taken off the car before my ownership. It's an April '64 car.
As for the sound deadening; I have some NOS in the garage that I need to sort out. I may have some spares.
Can you put a close up of how the bonnet stay rod attaches at the front and how it clips to close bonnet. Mine has been bodged and have no idea how it should be. ThanksI've now taken the bonnet off the car & finished stripping the paint from it. I'm just doing a bit more remedial work & hope to spray it in the next few weeks.

Whilst there is evidence of a poor respray all over the car & under the bonnet, it does appear that the underside bracing was originally black. Where the rivets are still clean, it doesn't look to have been touched:

In the absence of anyone knowing differently, I'll repaint these black before I do the colour on the top.
Does anyone know where I can get similar sound-deadening to this? It's about 1 inch thick & has a dark/black surface (unless that's just age & muck!)

Where are you getting your paint from? I'm having a hard time getting anyone to provide paint matching.. or original colours.
I've noticed for a long time that one of the light switches in OCC is almost translucent, whilst the others aren't:

I wonder if it's a replacement from another car - P5 perhaps?
