Morning all,
I've got a workshop manual for my P6 but it's the wrong one my car chassis number is 44701369C, can anyone advise the correct manual I need? Its a 2000tc
Thanks in advance Russ

Sorry for my ignorance but I thought that the 2000 workshop manual
Covered both the single carb set up and the twin carb arrangement but I’m going on memory and that’s not so good ;)

Perhaps the above manual was printed between 1963 when the P6 was introduced as an SC, and 1966 when the TC was added.

Issued Feb1965, I noticed that I could not find the rev counter wire in the diagram and I then wondered if its for an early model, I also noticed it has diagrams of earlier dash not the dials that mine has.

That's too early. It only covers the series 1 2000 with single carb.

For series 1 SC, TC and Auto, you'll need the large grey one or large white one. For series 2 cars, they changed to the one with the BL logo.

That’s over 40 Squidsssss
I did previously make a post on the subject of workshop manuals
but I never received a single reply
In this world of technology super fast broadband, even food delivery to your home and even Netflix, Could we not have the manuals for the P6 on the forum that one could view or download for FREE
Or make a small donation to the forum I would have thought that the copyright would have long expired
But I could be wrong, publishing the manuals would not effect the forum. Owners would still be asking questions and need assistance as far as I see it.
It’s a shame a fellow P6 owner has to pay £40 for a manual when he or she could put that £40 into mirrors or something else that is needed for there P6 to keep there P6 on the road and as we are all P6 owners our objective should be to preserve the P6 and encourage the new owners younger or older can we not at least help them with a simple manual that was published in the 60s?

I tried the manual on CD or laptop route and quite frankly it sucks. I'd pay the 40 quid and have the real deal, and I did !

I to have the CDs for the 3500 and the 2000 + 2200 but I did find them not so easy to find what I was looking for so quickly.
But they’re helpful.
A printer can help also,
What about making a book that can be delivered to your door and all the funds could go to the fourm.
Is it not better to give something than nothing, ok you don’t have the book but here is something to help you.
If you was stuck broken down would it not help to be able to access a simple manual at the side of the road?
Like I said the manuals are years old an owner should be able to access this information online some of the questions being asked are in the owners manual so this would help owners.

One other thing I thought of if this is about copyright how is the club providing a P6 manual on a CD format for people to buy on there stands.
This information should be provided free I think and would put a stop to the greedy sellers who have had a manual in there loft for years and years but sell it for a fortune.

Are you serious? You want someone to spend hours and hours painstakingly scanning each page of the manual, and put it up for free because you don't want to pay for it? £40 isn't a fortune, especially for a decent condition manual. Before the original 1963 issue manuals were really known about - only a few had ever been seen - I paid £250 for a manual and parts catalogue, so that I'd have the correct manual for my car.

Obviously not if the manual was sold via the forum as a paper back then obviously there would be a charge involved.
The CD version is just a file that could be added to the forum maybe our new website admin could add this?
Chris you should read my post I never said I didn’t want to pay for a manual I have all of them what I am saying is it would help p6 owners to have a free version on the forum.

hmm... there are people who have spent time and money producing these CDs and paper manuals, and they have done so to help people who have these cars and wish to look after them. I don't think it would be fair on them for me to buy a manual from them, and then put it on line for free use.

I am open to discussion, but my opinion at present is that I don't think it would be right.

People who have made the CDs and workshop Manuals don’t hold the copyright to the P6 manuals.
Fair enough don’t copy there work,
But I have an old original manual that would have been made by Rover so a duplicate could be made by just simply scanning the pages.
I can’t see why we would have a duty to keep manual sellers in business.

You can’t give the Haynes/Autobooks type manuals away & they’re not that bad!

I have several rough ones for garage use & others. Not perfect for rebuilding an engine but for most other purposes they are adequate.

I do have the relevant factory ones, but usually use them for that extra bit of help if I need it.

Your right there Phil I tried selling off old Haynes Manuals I have had for different cars over the years and just like you said you can’t give them away I don’t know why because I have found them very good.
