Rover P6B history trace??

Hi All,
I am trying to find information regarding a vehicle that was apparently a Singapore consulate car in the 1970s. I am hoping that someone may have a record on file that it was such a car.
The car in question is a 1970 Rover P6, vin number 7A8FC080707524198, chassis number 42600952F, engine number 42515567C.
I can only find out that it was originally exported from the UK in 1970, and the last owner stated that it was such a car, but has no evidence of this.
The car returned to the UK around 2000, and had a renovation, and then arrived in New Zealand in 2007.
Any help or information?

Kindest regards,
Richard Hollingworth.
New Zealand.

Hi, If I can answer for Peter? He was saying go to his website thus -

Homepage

Although I'm not sure how much more he will be able to tell you other than the 426 chassis number is '68 - '70 RHD export and the 425 engine number is V8 high compression. The modern 17 digit VIN has, I suspect, been applied by your government.

Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) here in the UK/EU he will be constrained from telling you anything that will identify an individual.

Thanks for that Colin.

You could ask to where the vehicle was dispatched at the British Motor museum , using the chassis number ( 42600952F) as a reference. They hold the original dispatch records
A web search doesn't cost too much. BMIHT Certificates

In some cases I can tell something about a car´s history - and it also has happened that I´ve forward some "individual details" with the explicit permission of a pre-owner !

So at the moment, it's all hearsay. The records at Gaydon might prove useful, as they list to where the car was despatched.

However, if it says Diplomatic Service, that's as good as you'll get.

Hi, I doubt it will even say that, more likely to be something vague like 'hmg' or 'crown' and then undisclosed distribution internally for security reasons.

Diplomatic Service is a term used in the Gaydon books.
