First proper drive in a P6B

Well gents ( and lasses )
I had my first outing in a very well sorted P6B today, I am mighty impressed with the performance comfort and ride quality.
The last time I went out in the same car it was very different, after a fair amount of work it now runs, and drives spot on....... I am sooooo tempted to make one next on my list.
I will look at them very differently from now on.

Give in to the force Luke...... and they are even better with proper fueling and steering and suspension upgrades.

My first impression when I drove one was OMG this is sooo sllooow, very glad I persisted with the madness of buying a "Grand-dad car" they are well and truly are as good as a modern in every way if you put the work in and do the necessary mods to fulfil the dream.

Yes I can definitely see the appeal Grahame.

No ZF in this one Jim, but it does have one of my BW35,s in it.
It was a pleasure to work on.

The BW boxes are surprisingly smooth, shame about the gearing but I find my BW65 more than acceptable for around town driving but not so much for highway use.

I find the big deal is actually the lock-up. If an auto loses 40-45bhp and a manual 20-25, the lock up pretty much gives you a 20% power boost at the wheels. Truth be told he overall effect is too high by about 10% but far superior to the BW. The top gear of the BW35 is already 5th gear territory and I'd be willing to bet a lock-up in this gear is actually better than having a 4th gear with no lock up.
